When flood waters rise, when tornadoes wreak havoc in neighborhoods, when fires destroy homes and dreams - that's when The Salvation Army demonstrates Christian service at its best, with not only food and supplies, but prayers and counseling. In times of destruction and devastation, from one end of the state to the other, the Army's mobile canteens roll into place to bring relief. Workers comfort victims, help reunite families and find emergency shelter. They bring food, clothing, blankets, medical supplies and financial assistance. And when the immediate crisis is over, long after the TV cameras are gone, The Salvation Army is still there, helping with massive cleanups and reconstruction.
