P.O. Box 9716
World Vision is present where human needs are greatest ? and where hearts can be moved to help the poor. Each year we build on our effective work from the past, with the vision of helping every child experience life in all its fullness.
In nearly 100 countries around the globe, World Vision joins with local people to find lasting ways to improve the lives of children and families in poverty.
The number of natural disasters occurring world-wide has increased rapidly in recent decades. In 1984 there were 35 recorded natural disasters - that number more than tripled by 2002, with just over 100 being recorded by the United Nations.
World Vision has enhanced its disaster mitigation and response efforts accordingly, working alongside many other agencies and NGO's committed to addressing human needs resulting from suffering caused by war and internal conflict, food insecurity, displacement, volcanic eruptions, sever drought, fires, earthquakes and floods.
In 2006, World Vision implemented major emergency responses in 63 countries. Dozens of smaller responses were also carried out.
In the past few years, World Vision has launched large-scale relief operations in the southern Africa region, Ethiopia, Liberia, Sudan, Iran and for the Asia Tsunami.
