cat_notes: It costs money to use an AidMatrix system. Each one is customized. And they aren't integrated, that we can tell. There's a food management program, a computer donations management program, medical supply donations management program. There are other donations "offer" systems that look like a front page for donors to register large in-kind donations "offers" and for groups to register their needs, but it's not easy to see what these systems do.
Sometimes they will install a system for free, but it doesn't look like they do it often. I am told that their first priority is to keep the money coming in.
Nice folks. Technically competent...but their systems are slooowww... They don't seem to have much room for partners that don't have money. Tightly partnered with UMCOR and CAN and others of that ilk...and won't work with small groups unless we're just helping them move excess supplies for them (making them look good)...or giving them contacts.
This works for us, because small groups would not get these supplies otherwise. We don't mind being used if they help groups that we are listing. BUT we'd like it better if we could work together to get more supplies out to more smaller groups, and have a way so that the data that we've gathered can be used real-time. The big groups have stuff, and it often just sits there. We can move it in areas where we're active, and we can help gather real time needs info. -> It costs money to use an AidMatrix system.
