Anyone is welcome to come to the shelter to spend the night. There is no charge for use of the shelter. People coming to a shelter are encouraged to bring their own bedding or sleeping bags if possible; any needed medications; and personal hygiene or care items. Food is available for those staying at the shelter.

“The Red Cross hopes that people affected by this storm will take advantage of these open shelters,” said Maria White, Acting Executive Director of the Granite Chapter in Concord. “At each shelter, people can get warm food and a safe night’s sleep.”

In conjunction with community partners, the NH West Chapter has also opened “warming shelters,” places for people to get warm during the day
