11/21/10 Email from Keline - Assessment Questions
Any supporting organizations (MSPP?, MSF? MTI? etc.) yes MSPP with little supplies

When did cholera patients begin to come at this location? About a month ago

How many people does your facility serve?

Current Cholera Patient Load: as per Dr Louis so far they are able to control the load

Fatality Rate for Cholera? 1

Has number of patients stabilized? they are still seing 15-20 people per day

Medical Staffing (eg. no. of Doctors, no. of Nurses, no. of non medical staff) they have two doctors on staff and about 4 RNs

How many patients are you treating daily? 15-20

How many hospitalized? The center can only hold 20 patients at a time so they try to treat them as quick as possible and send them home on antibiotics. And they told me (Ketline) so far patient sent home are doing well.

Does your facility provide Mobile Medical Clinics to the community? Yes we’re just finishing one last October; we (Dedicated Hands for Health NGO) are in a process of planning another one within the next 3 months

What is your Cholera Bed Capacity? I would not call it bed capacity, I will call it room capacity because there are few beds and most of the patient sleep on the floor.

Describe accessibility to your site (e.g. Passable roads? Helicopter Landing Pad or spot? Airstrip for small planes? Please provide conditions for air landings and GPS coordinates). Helicopter and car

Can you pick up supplies? Yes we definitely can pick supplies. They can go to Cap Haitien and pick up supplies.

Medical Supply needs (List by PRIORITY please. IV fluids; PO hydration (salts etc); water filtration, antibiotics and anti diarrhea will be greatly appreciated.
-----------------------------------

11/20/10 From Ketline who talked to Dr. Adeski by phone
Community Clinic is having to be a hospital.
4 Nurses (okay on personnel)
1 Doc (I think that's right)
So far have had 60 cholera patients
20 are in Clinic as Hospital (on the floor)
1 Death
Urgent needs:
Cholrine, Ringer, ORS, water purification tablets, educational materials on cholera
The doctor did not know about the CTC in St. Michele which is 20 mins away
They are having to send people home and just tell them to drink lots of water.
------------------------------------------------

LTel 11/21/10:

This site is not on the 'official' CTC/UTC/CRO list distributed by MSPP/PAHO/Health Cluster, however it is listed as such because it meets the criteria by definition.
