5/1: TF called, talked to Rev Fred. He says that they have about 30 overnight guests, but are feeding a lot more people during the day. He doesn't know for sure, but it might be hundreds. Gave me Gene's number, who is helping directly at the shelter (which seems to be in another building). Gene said that they are Ok for water and supplies for a couple days. Gave him Matt Lacey UMC supply contact info. Gene will call if he needs anything. He's got no power, so email won't work.

(show/hide changes)Wed May 11 19:02:42 +0000 2011 by LTel:cat_notes: Laura - if you read back through the email....I indicated that we need to keep this one as a shelter and ADD a new facility for the POD function.
Since we cannot utilize to facility types for one record, and we place shelters on standby, we've got to create a new facility.
I will add the shelter as separate since you've already done all this work.
Thanks! Les

Leslie- although they are no longer a RC shelter, when there is disaster they are the RC's go to church, so do we leave the emer. shelter avail? I also changed it to a POD- you never answered that question :-) They are distributing food but not feeding. Lpar

Laura...this is from the VOAD list, but have you personally verified that they are open? or did it come from a "today" type of email? or meeting notes?

Since we cannot utilize two facility types for one record, and we place shelters on standby, we've got to create a new facility so that we can retain this information & keep the old data captured as it's own record if it is ever re-opened as a shelter in the future.
I will add the shelter as separate since you've already done all this work.
