number of agencies from the public and private sector have
been working together to help meet the needs of recovering
residents located in the Greater New Orleans area and those
who have been displaced elsewhere. GNODRP was formed in
November of 2005 and has become a collaboration of 60 plus

sector, strongly committed to assisting people devastated
by Hurricane Katrina.
General Membership includes:
-Representatives from each participating parish long term
recovery committee
-Religious/Faith Based Organizations
-Disaster Response Agencies
-Social and Human Services Agencies
-Government Liaisons
-Advocacy Groups
Guiding Principles:
-Local focus and involvement – Information and creativity
fostered by the Parish Committees
-Interfaith and Community based - others included
-Local leadership – expanded and developed
-Unmet Needs addressed
-Decisions driven by data – accurate population studies
and needs assessments
GNODRP Information gathering / sharing is currently being
established between agencies to track the progress of
individuals and families. Through this collaboration,
funding entities are working together to bring in more
resources to help meet the needs of area residents.

In order to obtain the goods you must be part of GNODRP or a LTRO working in one of the 9 Parishes served(www.gnodrp.org)
If your organization would like to join GNODRP, you can contact Chris Brooks @ Christopherb@Unitedwaynola.org to get the needed paperwork
If it is submitted by Friday, you are okay. Typically the goods are issued to Case Management agencies and the case managers have identified clients with needs in their current case load. In this case, I need to move the goods to make room for other items, so the members of GNODRP that house volunteers may benefit from the water, some groups that work with disaster victims and their children will benefit from the books and so on.
A MOU will be in the paperwork Chris sends you, it explains a little more and we also have a warehouse orientation on the 1st Friday of each month at 1pm. It may be wise to attend one, so your org does not miss oppurtunities that may assist their mission.
As far as a referral, you want to check via link online... 211 provides a wide variety of resources which can be accessed on their website.
I also suggest you talk with Real Estate Agents at Century 21 because they were very helpful to me, when trying to find rentals in affordable ranges for clients when I was a case manager. If they see an outcome from helping you, they will update you weekly on upcoming housing and more.
I think this was too much info but I am long winded sometimes... Sorry Sara

Terra here from Citizen Action Team...the online Relief Database people.
Question about the stuff avail at the warehouse (the email below was
forwarded to us from
the FEMA mailing lsit). Someone said that only case managers
associated with the LTRC can get the stuff. Is that true? or any social
services org?
Also, I've had a request to beef up the database with housing referral or

Spoke to new volunteer coordinator Woody Hosler who is with Volunteers of America (Cathie Peterman left that position).
The GNODRP is a collaborative and should not be listed as a volunteer camp.
Woody coordinates all volunteer offers that come through them and places them according to skill set, affiliations, etc.

Sorry Sara

Subject: warehouse distro question

Hi Sara,
Terra here from Citizen Action Team...the online Relief Database people.
Question about the stuff avail at the warehouse (the email below was
forwarded to us from
the FEMA mailing lsit). Someone said that only case managers
associated with the LTRC can get the stuff. Is that true? or any social
services org?
Also, I've had a request to beef up the database with housing referral or
gs
and other
orgs that specialize in helping people find housing. Can you refer me to
a
couple in
your region?
