Child Witness To Violence Project – Violence Intervention Project

The Violence Intervention Project is a program for children aged 3-17 who have witnessed violence at home, school, or in their community. Services include:

* Assessments, Evaluations
* Individual Therapy
* Group Treatment

Our staff, which consists of licensed social workers and master's level child therapists, is committed to providing the best and most appropriate care for each child referred for services. Individualized plans are developed and implemented in conjunction with the child's family, school, physician and other social service agencies that may be involved.

As part of a larger private, non-profit agency, we are committed to providing services to all children regardless of their ability to pay. We recognize that these children, often the "silent victims" of abuse, are themselves VIP's in need of individualized attention and care.

The Clinic Director and her staff of Masters Levels Clinicians come with a great deal of experience working with both adult and child victims, collaterals, police departments and the community at large.

We welcome referrals from parents, police, department of social services, schools, physicians/health centers and courts.

Please feel free to call 508-583-6498 for more information or to make a referral.

Adult Offender Services

Certified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, FCR's Adult Male Program provides group services for offenders of family violence in the greater Brockton area as well as Cape Cod and the islands. Services are provided in English, Spanish, Portuguese, & Cape Verdean Creole. Groups are held evenings in a safe community setting.

Responsible Fatherhood Program

Helps Dads and Step-Dads develop nurturing parent-child relationships whether they reside with the child(ren), have visitation or are involved in a relationship with the child's mother.

Fees for adults are based on income and a sliding fee scale is available.

For more information or to make a referral, please call 508-584-2185.

Cape Verdean/Portuguese Program

Trained bi-lingual battered women's advocates provide specific services to members of the Portuguese and Cape Verdean community who are victims of domestic violence. Services include: community outreach and education, individual and group therapy and supportive counseling and case management.

For more information, please call 508-583-6498.

SafeHome Emergency Shelter Program

Trained staff and volunteers assist victims of domestic violence and their children escape from abusive homes and find the resources necessary to start a life free of abusive and controlling behaviors. Through FCR's collaboration with community partners, the faith-based community, and volunteers, FCR can, when space is available, provide short-term emergency SafeHome shelter, food, and transportation to victims.

Civilian Police Advocacy Project

Working closely with the individual departments of Brockton, East Bridgewater, Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, Rockland, Whitman, Avon, Stoughton, and Abington, trained, experienced advocates reach out to victims who have been assisted by the criminal justice system and provide ongoing community based advocacy and supportive counseling.
