Our dogs live in large inside/outside kennels. We have multiple yards to provide for their daily exercise, usually in predetermined groups to encourage socialization.
The daily routing includes the cleaning of their living areas, disinfecting the kennels, feeding, cleaning of the yards, dispensing of any required medications, washing the food bowls, washing blankets and towels. Of course all dogs need TLC and attention. A simple belly-rub is always welcome.
Some dogs, such as those receiving heartworm treatments, have special needs like careful walks on the leash outside the shelter.
We have a "Buddy System", where each volunteer is a buddy to one or more dogs, that he spends extra time with, for grooming; leash training, washing, walking and just extra TLC.
