Information on DMAT from the US Department Health and Human Resources website: http://www.oep-ndms.dhhs.gov/teams/dmat.html
DMAT is a group of professional and para-professional medical personnel (supported by a cadre of logistical and administrative staff) designed to provide medical care during a disaster or other event. Each team has a sponsoring organization, such as a major medical center, public health or safety agency, non-profit, public or private organization that signs a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the DHS.
SORT serves as a local and regional resource, and offers a Compliance Package to local businesses to help them comply with local, state and federal regulations. When an organization contracts for the Compliance Package, SORT also enters into an agreement to respond in the event of an incident.
