Kitchen Volunteer
Position Description
Volunteer will assist the Food Services Manager and kitchen staff with tasks in the kitchen and food pantry.
Responsibilities may include
-Helping to prepare and serve meals
-Cleaning, organizing, and stocking food pantry
-Cleaning and organizing freezer on 6th floor
-Unloading donations from the food bank
-Taking inventory of food stock
-Light cleaning in kitchen and dining area
Benefits
Working in the kitchen is one of the Mission’s most popular and important activities. Volunteers enjoy the interaction with the homeless guests who are served and experience first-hand the daily workings of a soup kitchen.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications required. Good teamwork skills are a plus.
Commitment
Ongoing and one-time opportunities available.
Hours
9 AM - 1 PM or 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM. Monday - Saturday.
