Training Classes, Education, Parenting available at LTRC, Family Support Center

The purpose/mission of our Family Programs is to assist
families in improving their quality of life by teaching them
various skills such as parenting, caring for babies and
children, character education, coping with various issues
to include family violence, social skills and anger
management. Each client is interviewed and placed in the
programs that would benefit them. Some of the clients are
court-ordered and are required to participate in some of the
programs. Programs Offered are:

Bright Beginnings is a program for pregnant teens and mothers. It
teaches them how to care for themselves and their infants. We give
a baby shower upon completion of the program. This program is
funded by donations by individuals, the Childrens Trust Fund,
MAEMA, and the Prattville Service League.

The Childrens and Parents Success Program (CAPS) is a program
that involves children and families dealing with violence and/or anger
management issues. The program has groups for children and
parents. Many of these are court ordered. The Parent Project
curriculum is used for these sessions. This program is funded by
the Children's Trust Fund and local donations.
