Refugee/Resettlement, Volunteer needed by Lutheran Services Iowa

Refugee Resettlement volunteer
(Des Moines and Waterloo only)

Refugee Resettlement volunteers are needed to provide the one thing refugees need most - a friend. Volunteers can also assist case managers with several duties including:

Adding a special touch to an apartment before refugees arrive
Helping a family with transportation
Assisting with shopping and food stamps
Tutoring a refugee in English
Helping fill out job applications and other forms
Mentoring a refugee about American life, home economics, bus rides, balancing checkbooks, etc.
