Mail delivery:
Customers served by the Greensburg Post Office can pick up
their mail and obtain retail services at the Pratt Post Office,
202 E. 3rd St., 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The office
will be open for mail pick up services only from 8 a.m.- 4:30
p.m. on Saturdays. Rural deliveries will be made wherever it
is safe and possible to do so. Customers the rural carrier is
unable to reach will need to pick up their mail from the Pratt
Post Office.

Drivers licenses:
A mobile station has been established in Haviland for residents
to replace drivers' licenses. For information call Freda Warfield
at the Department of Revenue, 785-296-3042. Car titles for
residents of Kiowa County are available at the Pratt County
Treasurer's office in the courthouse.

Food stamps:
Apply at the SRS office in Pratt, located on the second floor
of the Texas Energies Building, 400 South Main.

Unemployment assistance:
Federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available
for workers affected by the tornado. Those who may be eligible
include self-employed individuals, farm workers, those who are
unable to work because of injury from the disaster, those whose
workplace is closed and those who become the major financial
support due to death of the head of the household. Applications
may be completed at the Disaster Center in the gymnasium at
Barclay College. Kansas Department of Labor staff will be on
site May 9, 10, and 11 and applications must be filed by June 5.
Applications can also be obtained by calling 1-800-292-6333.

Small business loans:
Low-interest loans from the Small Business Administration will
be available to cover residential and business loses not fully
compensated by insurance. Residents and business owners sustaining
losses can begin applying for help online at www.fema.gov or by
calling 1-800-621-FEMA.

We provide shelter for both dogs and cats. There are a total of
17 dog pens and 12 cat cages. Pratt County, the city of Pratt
and business and private donations fund the shelter. The shelter
has one full time employee and numerous volunteers of all ages.
The shelter is governed by a local board of directors.
