ResourceNet also represents a special collaboration between two very different human service organizations in Boston—Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD), Boston’s anti-poverty agency, and the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC), the nation’s first public health department. These two organizations have come together to provide visitors like you with accurate and up-to-date information on the wide variety of human services available across the city of Boston.
ResourceNet is a collaboration which is not only unique in Boston’s human service community, but nationally. The availability of ResourceNet to the general public denotes the first steps of human service provision into the internet age. The benefits of the Internet have been slow to reach providers of human and social services, but the development of tools such as ResourceNet will improve the abilities of human service communities to take advantage of the ways in which the internet can defy time and geography.
ResourceNet is accessible from anywhere in the country at any hour. It can locate information on nonprofit organizations which provide child care services in Portuguese in Dorchester in the blink of an eye.
