notes: Was open as shelter for 2 weeks. Now most people are in motels/campers or w/ family. There are some churches/agencies still distributing aid, but not so much. Person we spoke with didn't know details..re: Red Cross or FEMA. They are back to biz as usual.
Turns out this was up in grenada, near Jackson. They have chicken coops blown
away, trees down, that kind of a mess.
In general, the need has moved from clothing and food to baby supplies
and cleaning supplies. The people in shelters are fewer, but there's
going to be a new money crisis when the FEMA funds for motels is shut
off in two weeks. Some of the folks in motels will quickly need to go to
shelters, and some may need to reopen. The shelters don't all know this
yet.
