Nowhere have the 2008 Midwest Floods had greater impact than the in the State of Iowa. BENS is very proud of its Safeguard Iowa Partnership www.safeguardiowa.org and the unprecedented collaboration and coordination it has facilitated among Iowa’s business and agency partners during this disaster.
Once the response phase is completed, the Midwest's need for assistance will continue throughout a long and challenging recovery period.
During or after significant disasters, BENS is often asked to help direct offers of in-kind donations from its members to the teams on the ground, or to communicate specific needs at the disaster site to prospective donors. In order to facilitate the donations management process for BENS members who wish to help the Midwest recovery – or to provide help in any future disaster, BENS now has its own portal on the Aidmatrix Foundation’s Network.
