Beginning July 19, 2010 program administrators will begin contacting applicants to discuss their application and request any additional information necessary to complete the program. Initial payments could begin in August 2010. The Personal Possessions Replacement Program provides up to $10,000 in assistance to flood-impacted, owner-occupied households to replace personal possessions lost in the Flood of 2008. The program will reimburse for eligible purchases made to date and can make direct payments for large purchases to ease cash flow situations. This program is funded through Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) revenues as it is designed to match federal funds previously received for personal flood recovery. The program is expected to provide assistance to about 1,400 residents with approximately $10.5 million from LOST.
