Mission: From the website:
Petra Project is a network of community services that seeks to meet the needs of those who are lacking by using knowledge of what services exist and then securing resources to fill in the gaps.
Siloam Wellness Center:
This area of ministry is to meet wellness needs in our community. This will initially mean educational meetings for people with questions concerning health care issues. They will be taught by qualified nurses, doctors or technicians. Future plans are for free medical and dental care for those without funds through employment insurance. We plan on holding seminars in the neighborhood around us as part of this vision. Starting date is planned for late summer 2008.
Petra House Recovery Center:
Our area is in need of a Christ-based addiction program that provides intensive care and instruction in living that will give men with addiction problems a clean living base to build their lives on. Petra House will be a live-in program with 24 hour assistance that will provide that base. Powered by ‘Turning Point’ ministry curriculum and Teen Challenge training courses, trained personnel will administer the program along with on sight living skill training in a structured 24/7 format. This program is due to open in spring of 2009.
Bread Basket:
Free meals are provided every day in Richmond around noon in different locations and by different groups and organizations. However, there is not an evening meal provided anywhere. Bread Basket provides nutritional meals in the evening (4:30 to 6:00 pm) and on Sunday afternoons. Other groups and churches combine to staff our kitchen for this provision. Staff is all volunteers This program has already begun with four area churches participating for a Tuesday night meal. Plans exist for expansion of this program to other nights of the week.

Petra Project is the Outreach organization that works within Rock Solid Ministries.
The Petra Project Board is shifting business to the formation and
foundation of the Petra House Recovery Center. This will be a long
term, residential rehab center that will be Christ centered and Spirit
filled. We will begin with a men’s program and expand to a
women’s program later. Our first need is a house or building to open
in. If you know of a property, call us at the church.
