The Red Cross shelter located at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 2105 E Highway 501, Conway, has been closed.
The Red Cross shelter at the House of Blues remains open for anyone who has been evacuated from their home due to the wildfire.
The American Red Cross continues to assist area residents displaced by the Horry County wildfires with shelter, food and mental health counseling.
In addition, Red Cross volunteers are keeping firefighters and other rescue workers hydrated and fed.
The State of South Carolina and the American Red Cross have collaborated to provide a public view of current shelters listed in the Red Cross National Shelter System. This information is updated as regularly as possible and may be immediately out of date. Note: Beaufort County may use these shelters only in a Category 1. No shelters are opened locally for any storm that is a Category 2 or greater. During a Category 2 storm or greater, alternate shelters will be set up in other counties. Law enforcement security will be provided at each shelter.

The following special-needs shelters, along with those mentioned above, are available:
Bluffton Elementary School (South)
Note: These shelters provide limited medical assistance from nurses/attendants (such as helping patients with taking shots, cleaning a wound, changing a dressing, and basic first aid medical treatment. Patients that are on any type of equipment that requires electricity should not use this shelter, but should seek relocation to a facility that can accommodate them. Patients using the Special Needs shelter will be required to have a capable caretaker with them.

Bluffton Elementary School (Also used as a Special Needs Shelter) 160 H.E.
McCracken Circle, Bluffton, SC 29910 (capacity 439)
H.E. McCracken Middle School 250 H.E. McCracken Circle, Bluffton, SC 29910 (capacity 358)
Note: Beaufort County may use these shelters only in a Category 1. No shelters are opened locally for any storm that is a Category 2 or greater. During a Category 2 storm or greater, alternate shelters will be set up in other counties. Law enforcement security will be provided at each shelter.
Special-Needs Shelters:
The following special-needs shelters, along with those mentioned above, are available:
Bluffton Elementary School (South)
Note: These shelters provide limited medical assistance from nurses/attendants (such as helping patients with taking shots, cleaning a wound, changing a dressing, and basic first aid medical treatment. Patients that are on any type of equipment that requires electricity should not use this shelter, but should seek relocation to a facility that can accommodate them. Patients using the Special Needs shelter will be required to have a capable caretaker with them.
