Note from 2008 Gustav/Ike support:
As you well know by now, Louisiana and Texas have started recovery efforts from the major damage from Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. Over 2 million people were evacuated from Louisiana before the 100 mph winds of Gustav raged through Louisiana. In response to this disaster, and in close coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Operation HOPE and our HOPE Coalition have begun reconstructing the lives of those living in Houma, Louisiana and Galveston, Texas . This organizational structure will utilize a trained network of HOPE Corps volunteers to provide financial information, guidance and other services by phone and in Disaster Recovery Centers operated by FEMA to those who are directly affected by this devastating storm.
For individuals affected by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike and ready to seek assistance in rebuilding their financial lives by obtaining lost or destroyed personal identification documents, assistance with deferring mortgage payments and obtaining copies of destroyed financial documents, call 888-388-HOPE (4673). For more information about our services and other available services, visit our Services and Resources section.
For small business owners affected by Hurricane Gustav and Ike please visit the Project Restore HOPE/Small Business section of our site. Project Restore HOPE/Small Business is a partnership between Operation HOPE and the U.S. Small Business Administration to bring relief to small businesses affected by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
For those willing to serve as trained HOPE Corps volunteers for recovery efforts for Hurricanes Gustav and Ike, please go to Be A Hero to volunteer.
For those willing and able to make a financial contribution to offset costs to provide relief support, please make a contribution to Operation HOPE allocating your support to our effort to provide assistance to those affected by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
