The following is a list of County-level emergency management websites, telephone (office and 24 hour), emails and sms/txt alert systems in Colorado. In participating counties, you can follow the "alerts" link next to each of the identified counties to register for and begin receiving emergency alerts in that area. Counties not identified with an "alerts" link are not known to have active text, SMS, email or mobile alert systems. For a direct link to each County's Office of Emergency Management, click on the County name. We are also adding city and town-level emergency management site links to this page, organized under the counties.

To best stay informed before, during and after a disaster you are encouraged to monitor a number of information sources, including systems such as local emergency services websites, warning sirens, sms/txt alert systems, local/national media outlets, and local government sources. This page is designed to work on smartphones, as well, so bookmark it... just in case.

You can also received news, preparedness, response, training info and partner information direct from the Colorado Division of Emergency Management via sms/text by texting follow coemergency to 40404. Obviously, you must have a capable phone and an applicable data plan from your service provider. (NOTE: once you subscribe, you can always stop recieving messages by texting off coemergency to 40404).

State and local Twitter accounts: The email and moble alerts systems listed by county below tend to be incident-specific alert systems. However, the State's Division of Emergency Management (COEmergency) and many local agencies also maintain Twitter accounts, where you will typically find a wider range of information such as road closures, weather updates, status of operations (snowplow, emergency services, etc.). To help you stay informed using Colorado-based Twitter accounts, the Division also maintains three lists for known Colorado emergency services, local governments and media organizations.
