mission: from website: LAHAF was created after the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti January 12 2010. In trying to help... to do anything... the LAHAF team realized that the ones on the ground and around the world also trying to help had some vital elements missing... Talking with each other, sharing information and working together. Organizations became inefficient and costly because of this very element. Many organizations doing good work have had to shut their doors and not fulfill their missions due to the lack of funding, communication, logistics and education. Through a process of vetting and exploring, LAHAF connects together organizations with volunteers and other organizations to help them become more efficient and cost effective. The end result? More success and satisfaction for all those involved ... from the ones being helped to those on the ground helping to the generous donors wanting to see their money get to the right places. Although our focus is in Haiti right now, it is not our project.. it is our model. It is an opportunity to pull all of the resources, money and manpower together. To give those, that so many wonderful organizations work diligently and tirelessly to help, a chance at not only living but a living a better one.
