hi Judy, we had very productive trips to Pestel dr. David and myself, thanks to everyone cooperating together especially getting the assistance from Volker and Coreen at Grass Roots United. We also met with Dr. Philip and Dr. Ben Fredrick in Port this week and did an intensive interview that has been excepted by USA Today to bring. attention to the Pestel area and the needed hospital etc, With Gods help, Dr, Schoering and all of us are going to commit our efforts there this year as much as possible. Thought you would like some of the inf. We gathered. We must continue to send needed meds and IV fluids etc, as there is still a very high infection rate that continues to spread. Thank God for the medical tent set up in Cymete. Thank you Judy for all you do to assist and help so many people.Miriam

hi Judy, we had very productive trips to Pestel dr.

Hello Miriam,
Please know that we understand the widespread challenge in Haiti of urgently needing long-term support of clinics that are chronically under-supplied and under-staffed.
Any coordination of supply delivery attached to HEAS partners however is based on the focus of emergency alert and response related to Cholera needs.
J/P HRO, and the U.N. in collaboration with the HEAS core team delivered Cholera supplies on 12/31/10 by helo drop. It sounds like we need to get an update of whether those supplies have run out or thin with specifics. Knowing the average daily burn rate of IV fluids would be helpful.
If there are Cholera supply needs that can be verified as critical at this time, you are welcome to complete the form on the HEAS portal for emergency assistance at:

The request will be replied to by email, and we'll do our best to get a response based on level of need.

Hello Sister,
Can you provide me with an update on the Centre de Sante Pestel Hospitals needs and Cholera activity? I have attached a questionnaire (in both English & Kreyol) that you can complete and return to me. Please fill it out to the best of your ability. I know it's a lot of questions.
There has been some confusion from many sources and I was hoping you'd be able to clarify the most current information and needs list for Cholera related supplies.
The PAHO list of CTC/CTU information that is dated 1/16/11 still has this hospital listed as a "CTU", however they state that it is "CTC necessaire". I assume there has been talk of upgrading it out of necessity to CTC status.
Thank you for any insights you can provide.
Best to you,
Leslie Teltoe

Please know that we understand the widespread challenge in Haiti of urgently needing long-term support of clinics that are chronically under-supplied and under-staffed.
Any coordination of supply delivery attached to HEAS partners however is based on the focus of emergency alert and response related to Cholera needs.
J/P HRO, and the U.N. in collaboration with the HEAS core team delivered Cholera supplies on 12/31/10 by helo drop. It sounds like we need to get an update of whether those supplies have run out or thin with specifics. Knowing the average daily burn rate of IV fluids would be helpful.
If there are Cholera supply needs that can be verified as critical at this time, you are welcome to complete the form on the HEAS portal for emergency assistance at:
http://biosurveillance.typepad.com/heas_aro/
Username: heas
Password: heas
The request will be replied to by email, and we'll do our best to get a response based on level of need.
Thanks for your service to this region,
Leslie Teltoe

Hi Judy,
My name is Holli and I work for J/P HRO. I also work hand in hand with Dr. Jim Wilson, who has urged me to look at Pestel as our next supply drop. I tried calling your phone, but it told me that number was not assigned. I needed to get some clarifications before going into a meeting at 8 am to present my request for Pestel.
Do you need medical staff?
ORS tablets?
when you say 50 chlorine, is this tablets?
We are low on bleach, but working on getting a large shipment from the DR. I just do not have an ETA for that yet....
If you coud get back to me at your earliest convenience, I can get the proper information to our Operations team. Once we decide whether this is an AIR operation or a LAND operation, I will let you know. Right now, I am looking at Wednesday for delivery. We need to gather supplies and submit request for cargo movement.
Thank you so much!! Hope you had a happy holiday
