Hello Jody,
Terra Friedrich's, who is my counterpart on the Citizen Command Center Relief Database let me know she spoke with you today about your operations in AL.
I've entered your facility record into the dbase:
http://www.citizencommandcenter.org/shelters/show/8161
Myself and Laura Parentau (works for CAP Downtown and is an integral core volunteer on the dbase as well as living in disaster zone) attend the AL VOAD telecon meetings and are working on many logistical angles of this response. We are still working on access to the meeting minutes for the AL VOAD but everyone is so busy it's not happened yet.
The meetings were daily, but there was none today (or Sunday), so it appears they are moving towards meeting 2-3x week at this point. There will be a meeting on Wed. at 11 a.m. CST which is the recurring time scheduled.
You can access the telecon call which is a FEMA line at: 1-800-320-4330 897612#
I realize of course that you are quite busy however there are some gaps I'd like to fill in on your facility record in our dbase which all the AL VOAD's have access to. Your personal contact information is of course kept as internal with no public access.
When you have a chance please let me know the following:
-Warehouse address (shared with Word of Love?)
-Types of in-kind donations and the urgency level of need
-Types of volunteers you are seeking (ie. kitchen help, clean up crews, heavy equip. operators, etc.)
-Do you have a volunteer base camp (ie. housing at a church, what types of amenities are available, what is the charge if any for housing/meals, a list of what they need to bring, etc.)
-Is your feeding of work crews and some residents stationary, or mobile?
-Are you hoping to hook into the supply chain of the AL VOAD, and/or, would you like to know about loads I have access to that are seeking destinations?
Please let me know if there is anything else I can be of assistance in your response. If I don't have the answer, I can likely hook you in to someone that can.
Cheers,
Leslie Teltoe

Operation Blessing. Just spoke to them, so please don't call them again today.
See this record for the last Georgia storm:
http://www.citizencommandcenter.org/shelters/show/4526
They are NOT working in Georgia this time, which is where I'm focused today.
So a NEW RECORD for them in Alabama needs to be created. I can do it later, but have to get ready for the GAVOAD call. I'm suddenly in the thick of things here.
Here's what I gleaned from our call:
1. She needs to get on the AL VOAD mailing list, which I agreed to chase down for her. Unless you can do it quicker. If so, please get me on it too.
2. She's focused on Jefferson County. Pratt City (?). She's serving hot meals to work crews and some residents. She's got 3 work crews already working, and just put out the call for more vols. Her warehousing partner is Word of Love (?) in Oxford (or Aniston?). That's where they are storing their food, etc. She's got access to chainsaws. And she's got heavy equipment, incl front end loaders and cranes.
