Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey is blessed to have the unwavering support of nearly 300 Lutheran congregations located across the state of New Jersey. Each one has embraced the mission of our social ministry, and has become a partner in delivering God’s love to those who hurt, who are in need, or who have limited choices. When we partner with congregations, we not only extend our reach – but also learn new ways to ‘reach out’ and touch our communities. Thank you for helping us to further our mission. It is amazing what we can accomplish when we work together. With your help, we will continue to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, teach our youth, care for our elders, bring families together and restore hope to those who have lost everything to disaster.

Community Outreach Services:
1 Adoption Program (Statewide) Serves birthparents, adoptees and adoptive families by placing infants, older children, special needs children and sibling groups
2 Community Partnering (Statewide) Partnerships with individual congregations to provide community outreach services
3 Lutheran Disaster Response (Statewide) Plans and coordinates the church’s response to those affected by disasters
4 Immigration & Refugee Services (Trenton) Immigration services, immigration law, English-as-a-Second-Language program for refugees and employment support
for asylees and refugees
5 Speakers Bureau (Statewide) Our staff is available to provide presentations to your congregation or organization
6 Lutherans Feeding Friends – (Statewide) Providing emergency funds to replenish the shelves of Lutheran food pantries across NJ
7 New Visions Homeless Day Shelter (Camden) Homeless day shelter provides breakfast and lunch,
shower and laundry facilities, a food pantry, a clothing closet, mail services, and assists patrons in finding jobs
Community Residential Services:
8 Lutheran Home for Children (Jersey City) Emergency shelter, serving up to 8 youth in crisis
9 Piscataway Community Residence (Piscataway) Serves 9 developmentally disabled women
10 Sayreville Community Residence (Parlin) Serves 6 profoundly developmentally disabled women
